Thanx for the pix Justy = that looks like one great looking heli! How did you find the quality of the fuselage - fiberglass work and paint job?

Justy, this is a great thread with a bunch of good information, thanks for the taking the time to share.

Good luck on your maiden flight, I know mine always behave a little different when in the fuse and I have to make some adjustments in skookum to compensate. If you can get some photos and videos to post.

Personally, I'm very impressed by the quality and paintwork of this fuselage. Excellent value for money! I've bought another Fun-Key fuselage a Hughes 500d unpainted for my next project.. 120 usd!!

Will definitely post a video and pics of it burning and turning

Maiden Time!

She's ready!! It's been very wet and windy here for the last few days due to the tail end of Typhoon Haiyan...hopefully the weather will settle down soon

Those Century AS350's are some of the best looking scale helicopters out of the package there are. Nice looking bird. Remember to take off the canopy locks next time, lol, and don't forget to remove them before flight. Maybe some red ribbons tied to them will help and don't worry, I sometimes forget them too. One last comment, I would paint the joining structure between the skid and the step unless the actual helicopter has that as is. I still have to paint my skids to match the main colour they join up against so you have got more done on yours than I have. Hope the maiden goes well.

Thanks for the comments..it was your build and flight videos that inspired me to do this build. Fun-Key really got this fuselage right, it's probably the closest you"ll get to scale in their range

I will remember to remove the magnets before flight

Just have to paint the tail rotor blades and fit the aerials and she's complete.

Really looking forward to getting some airtime in with this model.

Battery tray mod

Really been enjoying this build and flying the AS350, it just has a real presence in the air.:

I decided to extend the battery tray forward to accommodate a slightly nose heavy model. Works really well and the C of G is spot on..

I will paint the tail rotor blades this week and she's complete..I really should spend a little more time with my Hughes 500 build

Looks good in the air, Justy. Now, what you need to do is watch as many videos of helicopters in many stages of flight so that you can slowly add little touches that bring the helicopter out of the model. Keep it up.
