I agree, the price should be lower. It should be identical or 10-20 dollars MAX above the Mig 15 I bought from them. I still bought it though. I'm not sure if that was dumb or not.

I was hoping that is the case. Thanks Andy. I'm sure I'll be happy as ever because your Mig design is fantastic, as I have that one as well. Keep up the great designs man!

TCat, which version did you buy the kit,rr,kit w/retracts etc?

Andy based on whats avialable on the market for the same price its not worth it. As stated its a no brainer for me. BH A-10 twin 70 with srewjack retract for 179.99, see http://www.bananahobby.com/2100.html versus 70mm F18 superhornet with retract for 169.99, see http://www.nitroplanes.com/69a718-re...-eretract.html

Andy i just cant see the value of in the price difference of 89.99 versus 169.99 kits. $80 dollars for retracts on a 70mm jet? it better be top notch, free of manufacturer defects and able to withstand very hard landings in both concrete and rough grass takeoff without bending or braking from the base or from the foam.

That's not it - You get to pay $100 more for wheel well cutouts and an electric retract system.

For a further $80 it comes receiver ready.

The $89 kit plane (fixed gear) you're referring to is a little too similar to other 70mm F/A-18's which have already flooded the market. Banana Hobby offers a strikingly similar version, although it is a C-Model. It isn't EPO, but can be had RXR for around $109 right now (Remove transmitter, battery, charger to get the price)

I'll be the last one to bash on Nitro because they're one of my favorite vendors and this is among my most anticipated jets of late - But the pricing is all wrong on this one and I'll be spending my money elsewhere, unfortunately.

I ordered the kit with electric retracts in the jolly rogers theme.

Congrats T-CAT..im sure i will be a great plane - Andy has done a great job. However, I am having a hard time justifying that price considering the alternatives. I was waiting to buy two of them until I saw the pricing. Especially after purchasing these two jets for a very slightly more,
LX F22 twin 70, Starmax F18 90 Tiger meet, Banana Hobby Cessna 182 500 .. (1 min 17 sec)
.

I see where your coming from for sure. I am also thinking about getting the new A-10 as well. I saw it fly a week ago at the local field. It flew great, and sounded awesome, as all twins do (especially hawgs ). However, there were some things that I didn't like when I saw it fly. The retracts seem to be just glued in there as one big piece. This would make it easy to change out the whole thing (even though retracts with 4 screws are just as easy), but horrible from a longevity standpoint. I have doubts that the A-10 would be able to withstand grass landing, take-offs for long. The foam on the A-10 is also very smooth and looks amazing, but it's EPS foam and dents unbelievably easy. The F-18 is made of EPO foam (much more dent/crash resistant), and has electric retracts that seem pretty sturdy, especially if they are similar to the one's on the Mig 15. The F-18 will also take much less money to get going when bought in kit form, because it's using far less channels, and half the electronics. I love both, but I see some advantages of the F18 (even though it's hard to compare a single 70mm EDF to a twin EDF) over the A-10.

I will post a video or two of both planes after the holidays. I have been flying them and they both fly great. The F18 looks sharp in the sky. Thats why I was hoping to get one of these Andy design F18 superhornet. I need them for the smaller fields.
