V911 RTF Heli from www.tmart.com
Last week, I received my new addition to my little big fleet. Its a V911 RTF heli, from www.tmart.com.
Buying from www.tmart.com gives you 2 advantages: a) Low prices and b) A USA warehouse, which means free shipping (the same free shipping of some china-based sites) and faster deliveries.... just my 2 cents
The unit comes in a nice package. A little box (arround 30x30x10cm), contains all the items needed to flight. Also, the box is very sturdy, protecting the unit in the travel from the warehouse, to your front door.
For the record, the shipping time, from the USA warehouse, to Cuenca, Ecuador, was less than 2 weeks. cheap and fast.
This heli is perfect for the newbie, for people who wants to try helicopters, and dont want to make a hole in their pockets (or clear their bank accounts). For $40.52 (shipping included) you get this items:
As you see, its a RTF package. You only need to add 6 AA batteries for the transmitter, and you are ready to go.
My helicopter comes in a white-blue-red scheme. I like it and it makes easier to track the heli outdoors (it can fly outdoors by the way. Just try not to fly it under a tornado )
The transmitter feels great. Not so big, not so small. The only complaint that I could have, is that the transmitter is not fr-sky compatible. The gimbals are smooth and precise, and the transmitter has digital trims and a dual rate selector. Also it has a small lcd screen for show you some information about the state of the controls.
Something you need to know is that the transmitter is Mode 2, it has the Throtle stick on the left.
The heli itselfs measures almost 22cm long (9 inches) and weights less than 50g AUW. Im very impressed with the technology that involves this little machine. In a 1 sq. in. circuit board, it includes the receiver, gyro, 2 speed controllers and 2 microservos. All installed in a super light plastic/carbon fiber structure that holds the motors and propellers. And everything in a affordable product.
My personal flight experience? Let me tell you that Im 110% satisfied with this heli. Im not (yet) an expert heli pilot (im more a rc cars/planes fan), but this heli is great to learns the heli basics. Its very stable, very resistant, very forgiving, and very cheap. Here is a little video I recorded in my house, and belive me, Its been a week or so crashing like I do in the video, and the heli have no a scratch.
