Super Deformed Macross

For all of thoes that are fans of Macross, AKA Robotech, I've been scouring the Interweb to find plans for anything that I could build that was simple and quick.

I've been lurking around here, conducted search upon search and found suprisingly very little information or scratch builds.

So hence my journey began.

There were some rules to be followed.
1) Had to be a quick build..(I have very little patience)

2) Had to be cheap..(Dollar or less, foam that is)
3) Had to be FUN!

I thought about this and put it in the blender I call my head..and Spit this idea out.

SUPER DEFORMED MACROSS!

If you don't know what that is check out this link:
Macross HD Super Deformed (1 min 2 sec)

Why not? we've got cartoon planes..Plenty of Quick Builds..and an abundance of Dollar Tree foam knowledge..

As with ROY FOKKER..I played around with the PROTO-VERITECH..
and testing shows promise...

Glide tests, Location of CG..all done.
It's all a matter of adding in the rest of the guts and of course the Maiden flight.

Curious Yet?!

Well here ya go, a first look.
Sorry folks, I have yet to decide if it's a VF1-A,D,J, or S, so no turret head yet, maybe even an E-lint seeker?.

I plan on conducting inital flights with a couple control options.
1) V-Tail setup only
2) V-Tail w/Ailerons
3) Elevons w/Thrust Vector (suggestion made by my crazy test pilot)

I'll be modifying the look and style of the SD Valk..once I get it up in the air..

Power will be supplied by a Prop in Slot 2600KV BL.
More to come!

If your looking for plans, the best place to start is the top of this forum, there is a 'Sticky' thread that lists loads of free plans, plus links to the build threads.

I have been a fan of the Macross Saga since the first day I saw one of the cartoons. You are correct to say there is little in RCG, as far as I have found to date. No doubt there is more to find, but finding it has been an issue. Not long ago I was doing an "image" search using "Bing" by MSN and did find a number of imagines. Some suggested a possible RC build, so may have to look again. I will watch for further additions to this thread.

Super Deformed Macross

Not much action since my last post. I did find other examples of the SD models, but mostly of WW2 Aircraft, and Japanese super hero robots. All I have found to date are made from thick paper, or what is called card stock and is part of the papercraft hobby.

Sorry to everyone that has looked at this thread and wondered what happened..
Long story short...LIFE...but..I can now take a breather and relax until the next wave hits..
until then..back to the bench..I'll be revitalizing this effort and hopefully have more up next..

Next Milestones:
1) dust off the plans, and conduct a build,
2) Test and conduct a proof of concept (see if it glides worth a darn)
3) Oufit with electronics and cross fingers..
4) If it flies...I'm happy..., if it flies well, I'm in heaven...If all else fails...I hope it crashes Exceptionally.

Super Deformed vs Fattie, or Caricature

I probably need to mention this build isn't that different from the threads with the fattie, or caricature RC models.

Shape looks very much like Alpha and Bravo (Cartoon Tomcats with helmets) from the first "Planes" movie.
