Combat Demo for SkyMasters
Who can be available to fly some combat at the SkyMasters Scripps Road field in Lake Orion on Sat. Oct. 13? I think it will be in the late afternoon or early evening, because we have also been invited to stay after the combat and participate in night flying.
Vic, Joe, and others, Can you come and bring your night flyers also? The only requirement is you must have an AMA number. I think most of us are members anyway and it is certianly recommended. But for flying at the SkyMasters field it is a requirement. I would like to be able to confirm that we will do the 10/13 combat demo in a few days. So, please post here or (send me a PM or Email) so I will know if we have enough flyers to put on a good demo. I think 4 pilots is minimum and would really like to have 8 or more. Link to SkyMasters field map. |

A parkflyer membership is sufficient for what we fly and costs $29.95 or something like that. https://www.modelaircraft.org/joinrenew.aspx I am thinking that I can make the night flight for that evening maybe. I just thought of something that I may have already planned (Corn Maze) with the family. Ken

Do you post on this thread if you are going to fly Tuesdays? Weatherspark is predicting 20 mph wind with gusts to 30 for tomorrow. I'm guessing that is a little much for the foamies or am I missing something. I know of an old timer that says the plane doesn't know it's windy. What time do you get started?

This is the place to talk about getting together to fly. Right now airnet (see link in post #1) says 14 MPH dropping to 10. That sounds boarder line (too windy) to me. But, the forcast was much higher so maybe it will continue to drop. I'll keep watching, and hoping.
Normally first guys arrive around 4 PM. Combat has been starting after 5. As soon as we have at least 3-4 pilots ready. |

Combat Demo for SkyMasters has been moved one week to Sat. 10/20.
Jordon, that should give you a little more build time. Mike, Jordon, Joe, (pretty sure Ted plans to make it but he has not posted) and I....That's a skeleton crew! Sure would be nice if we can get more participation. |
