Yes, please! Get me as close a pic as you can because I only see a little contact point on the front. What kind/ gauge wire did you use? What length is it?, etc.

Jack, my Bud couldn't find his V4 with the antenna installed but I assure you this is the spot to solder to. My Bud had two bricks without antennas but, he knows the wire dimensions because his Son helped him make a couple extras.

Wire length: 1 1/4'
Thickness: 1.25mm single strand w/insulation.

Notice the terminal is stamped "A1" Antenna 1 maybe?

Mike.

Thanks for the location. I have the 72Mhz 4-in-1 laying around and nobody seems interested in it. Do you think I can use a piece of that wire?

A piece of old antenna wire? Sure, why not!

Mike.

EDIT: They seem to be about the same gauge. Measure it and if it's 1.25mm you're good to go..

It's done and it's also back to pod and boom. Thanks for the location. There was a big glob of something over the connection - a lot of good it did. Did your buddy leave the wire sticking straight out or did he wrap it around to the opposite side of the 4-in-1 and tape it down so it is protected?

Leave that 1.25" of antenna wire sticking out straight. It's a good idea to put some hot glue around the soldered joint or where the wire comes out.

Dude, you don't have a pair of calipers? And how long have you been in this hobby

Let me know how the testing goes. Pod and boom is the way to go

Calipers for what? I have extensive machine shop experience and the tools to go with it. I just don't "embrace" Metric.
Even late in the evening, the wind is whipping around like crazy lately. Best I can do right now is the garage. I think it'll be OK. Thanks.

Hi folks....

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post for help with a Lama V3???

Anyway... It's been a while since I took this off the shelf but when I did, the battery was as dead as a dead thing... new battery fitted and out for a play.... shaky, shake shake and it fell over throwing its fly-bar about 10 feet!

The problem is, the little fly-bar link has left the room!

Is there a replacement for this or do I need a complete fly-bar ass'y???

You can buy the Xtreme links for about the same price as the whole flybar. The Xtreme links you have to carefully screw them together. These are what I have and they are somewhat hard to find anymore.

These come from California.

The whole flybar is from China and they won't be back in stock for a couple more weeks. I'm sure you might find some in the USA though.

I assume you bought the Xtreme links from California. There're a bit tricky putting them together. A nice pointed needle nose pliers (knurled) to hold the threaded rod will help greatly.

BTW, yes, we take question/answers for the V3

Welcome aboard..

Mike.

I'd leave about 1/16"th of an inch of thread showing. Try to install the two parts with equal amount of thread in each link. Now you'll need to track the upper blades. Spin her up and observe the upper blade tips. You should only see "one" blade tip. If the tips seem blurred as they spin, pop the bottom link off and turn it either in or out about two turns. Re-check. If the tracking seems worst just turn the link in the opposite direction until you get to the point where you only see one blade tip as she is spinning. They have "tracking tape" to put on the blade tips to make it easier to see the blade tips. A piece of colored electrical tape placed on the leading edge at the tips of the blade should work fine if you find your're having trouble seeing the blade tips as the spin. I do it by eye with the heli shown against a light colored wall in the house.
