RCTimer RS900 Owners Thread - Build -

Evidently the RCTimer RS900 is based on the DJI S900, the design itself is very close to what I personally have been wanting for while testing other frames

I have been searching for a frame which has has ample room beneath the bottom plate for the Lipo(s) and below that the gimbal, both in the middle with both away from the edges and out of the prop wash. Which is why I modified my layout to have both Lipo and Gimbal in the middle and not Lipo at one end with gimbal at the other end with both being hit by prop wash. I am just saying, you can change it anyway you want.

The Lipo and Gimbal together are vibration isolated from the rest of the frame, so the weight of the battery + gimbal + camera helps to tame vibration, retractable landing gear for 360 view, Vibration isolated motors, arms that fold down for easier handling, arms that when locked don't move unlike earlier folding arms.

I received the RS900 on New Year's eve, I have assembled it and tore it apart a few times trying various configurations, have not flown it yet.

Specifications and other details are on RCtimer product page http://www.rctimer.com/product-1241.html

RS900 PDF manual is here http://www.rctimer.com/download/RS900_Manual.pdf

RS900 comes with a round plate that covers the bottom plate same as DJI, I did not receive that part which is why it is not depicted here.

Hi Joe. Great post. I was thinking about buying this frame with the same gimbal. I have this gimbal from HK and so far I donīt like it much. Too many breaking or failure points. What is your experience from the one you have?

I cant comment on the performance of the one I intend to use, as I have had it for a while now waiting and waiting to find a worthy frame to attach it to, the RS900 so far sure looks like the one for me.

I have the Rctimer Black ASP 3 Axis Nex-GH5 Brushless Gimbal

Great Joe
Really enjoy reading it and waiting to someone test the frame with Fixhawk.

Please do test the vibration problem that S900 facing due to very thin main plates.

It was a very short flight late in the day but it and the flash log did answer quite a few questions for me.

I suspect the issue is not the supossed "thin main plate" which is why those who have tried to stiffen it have not had much joy.

A few more cautious tests then add some weight to simulate a full camera load and see how the Fixhawk handles it, I fully expect it will do very well.

S1100 is overkill for what I want so not likely to ever compare as I have the F1000 Octa and that is already more than I need.

JABRAM Is a plate similar to the one below included with the RS900? (The below picture comes directly from DJI's website, however since I'm in the market I figure doing a direct comparison would be worthwhile.) My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask.
