Your numbers do make it seem a bit porky Big model though.
I've found that smaller electrics have a better power/weight ratio.
Unless one uses 6S and or 8S+ power with the larger motor system sizes..

Guess you know nothing about F2D combat. All have mufflers. FAI rule, and yes this is most popular event in contest flying. 75 mph speed limit is popuar also.

Never flew sanctioned C/L combat. But I did finish in 15 place in A class SSC combat
With a16th place in B class 2948 Scale. in 2012 RCCA and that is a blast.
I flew a lot of non sanction C/L combat in the 70s & 80s

and if we get back into C/L Combat we will probably start out in 1/2 A

My reflexes have slowed down enough that I have difficulty just watching a modern 1/2A combat airplane fly, so I am not thinking about getting on the handle myself.

Thats why we have speed limit events now. 75 is pretty easy to keep up with. And now you can make an electric work in that class.

I wonder if, now at 66, I could fly FC at 125 MPH like I did when I was 28 and than again at 39. I like to think I could, with a little practice.

Stubblefield is still a tough competitor at 70+. I intend to do that myself with any luck.

I fly in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My son and I both fly the contests locally and also at Brodak's. I love 1/2A and speed limit. 1/2A is a blast with Norvel's on 35" lines for the fun of it. That can be pretty wild. The fast stuff is fun and were both working our way there with some Fox MK engines. We both play around with some outdated F2D stuff. All of it is good stuff. Ken
