So Andy , , , , How can we convince Horizon to add a backlight ? .......... It seems to be the one biggest flaw in the new release . I added a backlight to my DX-7 , , , , and I really dont want to have to add one to the new 7S if I decide to go for one . |

..this is just "plane wrong"...or at least it's plain wrong, creating all the hype over "built in telemetry" and then very quietly NOT including the part that MAKES IT WORK..! Are we supposed to be stupid...? Then stop treating us as if we are..! Bill |

Yes..for sure there are problems...go to Goggle and You Tube to get updated on the mysterious aileron movement as the elevator stick is moved. There are vids showing this and numerous posts of returned DX8's. I was actually hoping that maybe this "new" DX7s might have innards that differ from the DX8 which could result in fewer problems. Who wants to buy a new radio and have to return it 4000 kms for service...! However with a telemetry system that does not work without yet another outlay of cash...and no backlight on the screen, and no "glider mode" maybe this new "7" is not all it's cracked up to be on first look..! Not everyone is having these issues. My DX8 was an early one (Sept 10). Yes, it was recalled but I flew it before and after I had it serviced and never had so much as a blip. It's been a bulletproof TX for me. Back to the DX7, Nice TX, it fits the gap in the lineup. I won't be trading my DX8 for one though! |

Oh I just had another thought.... It looks like the DX7s doesn't have the electronic e-ring the DX8 has... anyone know for sure? Its not listed in the features....
Another thing, I think people are misunderstanding the "telemetry module" thing. The DX7s itself is 100% telemetry ready, the telemetry module being discussed plugs into the reciver and flies on the plane, Thats the part thats not included.... Yea the DX8 comes with one, but it also costs $130 more.... The TM1000 telemetry module is under $60, so those that really want telemetry are still saving over $60 vs a DX8.... For what you get in a DX7s, $300 isnt bad... if it doesn't have all the features you need, then obviously its not the radio for you, and you probably need to spend the extra cash on a DX8.... I have no need of a backlight or glider stuff, and telemetry is just a cool plus, I just have to decide if a 3rd flight mode and electronic E-ring is worth $60 to me... |
