I read in the H8 Mini thread that it wasn't, but soon I should be able to verify.

Transmitter looks a lot like the JJRC H20 Hexacopter one, at least for style and color.

Keep us posted. If it is the same and will work with the X9 transmitter, I'm ordering one!

No, it is not the same protocol. But the battery is similar. I found that Hubsan X4 battery works great too.

Yes, the H20 transmitter is exactly the same as the H8 mini 3D. You can use it.

This quad is really cool. The quad auto detects if you are right side up or upside down, you can push the throttle and it starts flying. Just had a couple of flights, but so far loving it. It is awesome just like the H8 mini, maybe even better.

What is the range you are getting with yours? I got mine earlier today, and range is very limited, just like on the JJRC H20. About 20 to 25 metres at most, which is even less than my range-challenged most recently bought regular H8, that got only 30 metres. For quads that are that fast and agile, and this size, it's unacceptable.

Hey solo are you getting the devo? At least you won't have to worry about range for those that are compatible, the h8 went from never flown to my favorite indoor quad since its been deviated.

I have to modify my Devo 7E still, but for the H8 3D that won't help for now, as it uses a different protocol.

Btw, the problem with my regular "range-challenged" H8 was solved by making the antenna stick through the top half of the frame, often called "the antenna mod" simply.

Yeah a classic, it will soon become a second nature lol. Also checking all antennas are 31mm precisely will help getting optimal range.

Why do quads like the JJ1000 and first H8 Mini, and even a nano like the Bayang Toys X6 manage to get insane range, mostly far beyond the pilot's capability to still see the heading, and recent ones get crashed time after time, unless modded? I've never crashed a quad so many times as the H8 3D, it's size and speed make it get out of range on just a few seconds of straight flight, do they expect me to fly figure 8s within a 10 metres diameter all the time?

I don't believe it's as simple as that.

31.25mm is the 1/4 wavelength of a 2.4GHz signal in a vacuum.

I understand, this is just a quick and easy method. If your antena is say 25mm or 35mm it will certainly help to replace or shorten to a 31mm, agreed?

So, is the yaw rate on this one the same (uselessly fast) as the H8? I wouldn't fly my H8 if it weren't for my X9 xmitter.
