Oh man, if avgas wasn't so expensive that would be a deal!

I need to just order one. I was hoping they'd go on sale further with that 61" coming out.

My favorite plane is no more. It appears the 8A Bec on the 125A ztw Gecko decided to quit. Strange that it happened right after a knife edge spin. I actually have a motorbox but cowl and canopy are no longer in stock.

Now I have to decide to replace the 57, wait for the 61, or get an Extreme Flight laser 60. Does anyone know if a MF 4315 714 on 4s4000 will work in the laser? I know it's meant for 6s 3300.

Maybe somewhat light for a 60 inch extreme flight. I would just guess that you'll end up a little heavy.

I've ran 6s2600s which are about the same weight as the 4s4000 in a few of the EF 60 planes without a balance issue. Little on the floaty side for me. This is also using a MF 4315.

Cool, thanks. I'll have to go check out the 61" thread to see if that's a possibility. Otherwise, I'll grab a 57. (the 60" Laser is only slightly more expensive, fwiw)

I have the 60" laser in my fleet... So far my favorite this size. Replaced the 57.
Looking forward to trying out the 61.

The EF 60'' laser is a great plane! the 4315 will work, however you will have to get Ken to rewind it to the 480kv for 6-cell batteries.

nah, not needed. thrust is thrust. you can do on 4S what planes do on 6S. having a motor re-wound to change the Kv only so you can shift the voltage is literally just adjusting two parts of the same equation to get the same result...

Sure but I don't think you could pump 1700W on 4s without heat being a concern on a motor this size. On 6s it does it without issue. That said, you have the packs and motor already it would work fine on 4s.

True, I would just be worried about balancing it with lighter batteries. and it is only $50 or so to get it rewound.
