I suspect it will be a tad too strong for the Strega Stehl, as much as Id love to. as well.

Will have to charge up the Opus and see if I can get the Windburner sorted.

Ive go to get building my new Hurricane as well. Just havent had the time.

Funny you mention that. I took a walk around there for a look one afternoon and since then I have only been there once or twice and both days the guys flew off the bottom hill. It should be good light from that spot in the afternoon.
I also went over to the other southern side which should yield some good shots in a NE DS day, esp in the arvo when the sun can be a right PITA from the pits. My biggest problem is I don't even have a PC set up at the moment since the rennos started, so all I have is a crappy laptop to do my photos.....hence no photos.

Here is hoping for a rainy morning (so the tiler comes over) and a sunny arvo for wybung.

Waz, did I miss something? hurricane as in Vic hurricane, or hammond hurricane?

Hi Folks 0930 Maitland AP

It has been raining most of the morning at home. There was an aero tow scheduled at Hexam Rebel club this arvo and tomorrow Probable too wet on the filed. Too wind for my wooden model at Wybung.

Watching the sea would be spectacular at the moment.

The grass is too wet to mow. drat Back to the work shop.

Cheers John Quigley

Looks like the big area of rain that covered Wollongong to Central coast is slowly moving North, might still be a chance for this afternoon.

Yeah....the poor old Opus didnt fair too well today.

Should be fine after a bit of attention, but such a shame after so many outings with it without any damage.

Thats DSing for you though.

Well done Stehl!!

Waiting for the winds to swing before heading to Wybung today.

Found this weather site this morning, which shows "wind direction distribution" by the month.
Very Interesting.
Just select the month on the bottom of the coloured chart to see the "Wind RADAR".

Nobby's wind distribution.

The Entrance/Norah Head wind distribution.

Hi Folks 0615 Sunday.

If the the weather plays the game, Ian Roach, John Kinlay and myself hope to do some long flights for our LSF tasks at Wybung next Saturday 16 FEB.

We will be cruising around so we should not get in any ones way. We are not asking for the site to close, the opposite applies. Others flying can be indicators to wind changes. Local knowledge is a big help and I have only had about 1.5 hours flying on this slope.

Ian and John are looking for a 4 hour flight each for Level 4 and my witnesses while I hope to fly for 8 hours.

I hope to be flying by 10am while Ian and John can can sand bag a bit.

Ian is on 2.4 and I am on 645 John's frequency is unknown at this time. I hope my frequency will not cause a problem. Let me know if it might. I can go to another 36Mh spot though I have done my TX battery testing on the 36MH modules.

I have a 2.4AH nicad in my Corella and the rudder servo is disconnected and a 2.6AH 3cell TX battery which should go for 10 hours.

Now all we need is wind.

Cheers John Quigley

Hi Folks

The weather at Wybung is not playing games. I wrote on AIRBORNE that one must learn to fly a slope site. What I mean is to gain experience in different weather conditions. I do not have much time on this slope.

To that end I have observed stehl and others seeking different parts of the slope with changing wind.

I have gotten to know Stehl and as the weather prediction has a lot of ESE componant in it, I could loose a model for no gain.

I may drop in for a look on Saturday. May even see some members there.

cheers jq
