For Nitro you are left with these:
RG and NF make the only commercially available Nitros:

If you are into actually DRIVING a bike then go for electric.

The good stuff IS expensive, but as with any hobby that involves racing, if you are looking to shave tenths of a second off lap times, it's worth it.

I went f* it mode and ordered this.

Nuova Faor SF701 a Monsano 31-03-2014 parte2 (1 min 8 sec)

http://www.shop.gotnitroonline.com/I...SALE-SF701.htm

Considering I'm going to have it forever and it will be my only RC nitro bike and considering all the rarity associated with Nitro RC bikes I might as well do it right.

I talked to the guy and got custom wheels and tires as well as a cold plug.

He's going to glue the tires and cut the plastic and all I have to do is paint it.

It has 1 servo for the rear brake and 1 servo for the front. It's going to be good to learn about brake balancing. I attribute what I learn from RC into real-life. It's cheaper to keep a motorcycle than a car for insurance you know? Like 300% cheaper per month.

Dave is a grat person to deal with, you won't be disappointed. Read the threads and learn the basics of what to expect. Once you've been bitten by the bug, i doubt it will be the only bike you will own...

I got it for the sole purpose of learning how to brake bias as well as having an RC nitro bike. I might get a motorcycle one day so.. I mean watching all the horrific videos of what happens to people who don't know how to ride I would say it's quite an investment.

And is dave the owner? I saw a video of the SF models on youtube and they sounded like him on the phone. What basics should I expect? I have a great radio with the ability to do lots of settings.

Maybe one day I will 3d scan all the pieces and modify them to accommodate a bigger motor then 3D print a shell. As with anything new for me I like getting something that is already made so I have an idea of what it should look like then after modifications can take place.

One thing to remember with nitro. Very important where you store you fuel. Do not keep in an area where the temp changes extreme or moisture. This will cause the fuel to go bad quicker than expected. Plus cause tuning issues from here to Xmas.
As far as brakes, your gonna be using the fronts way more than the rear.

You converted to a 30? What does that mean? You changed the clutch bell and spur? What is your top speed now?

The bikes you are looking at are not for sale, they are examples of what a person can accomplish with a little research a few bought parts, time and patience.

There is no quick path to building your own bike. Everyone who has done it, has already spent years running production bikes.

Don't expect to buy a 'custom' one off bike (which is an unsupported prototype) without expecting the price to top $3,000...(case in point (Nolan Farmer)

$3000?

I got the same carbon fiber frame material for a quad for $50 shipped on ebay..

If the small parts were bothered to be mass produced they don't need to cost $100 each but like $20.
