Fiat g-55 aircore foambash build

Ok, well I've had some people ask how I goo aboot do-n this so here we goo . First I find a 3 view of the airplane I want to do and is some what a close match with an Fly Zone aircore airframe and scale it up or down to get a 22 inch wingspan. Then I print it and cut and tape the pages to get this......... Then I cut out the top and side view and tape them on the body and wing to get an idea of what needs to have foam added or taken away.

Ok ready to start on the fuselage, here I have removed the rudder and stab. I then lay the paper side view over the fuse and mark the location of the rudder and stab.

Here I have removed the rudder and stab from the paper to trace the outline on the foam. Btw I am using the foam that the airframe came in. I have also cut out the rudder and pinned it to the fuselage.

Here I have used the me109 stab. I overlay the paper outline on the stab and trace the paper outline on it. I have cut off the bits that are not needed. then I put the me109 stab on the white foam and trace the outline and cut and glue the part that is needed to the front of the me109 stab.

Working on the cockpit area now. Again using the paper outline to locate it and removing and adding foam where needed.

Thanks, yeah it is fun and cheep to do too ! If ya make a booboo well ya just fix it with a bit of foam and sand it down......Lol. Now I have to remember where I got the canopy from on the Macchi 202 I did ! I think it came from a "Diels Engineering" 202 kit. It makes for a good match. Back to work !

I have cut out the space for the stab and test fit. Also removed the rudder and stab pushrods. You can remove them by gently turning the magnet end back and forth while pulling away from the pushrods.

Excellent work! With your skills, you probably could even make the Aircore 109 look like a 109!

Thanks K5085 ! Ok, here I've added the rudder and the ridge to the top rear part of the fuse and the tail cone.

Done with the air intake and have hinged the rudder. I use "floppy disk", the stuff works great with foam and ca.
