Since biplanes seem to be making a bit of a resurgence how about a triplane exp?

Imagine the roll rate!

yes, a LiFe pack would do a greater job...but who wants to put 80 extragrams in a little plane like the 48" ?[/QUOTE]

I agree on that one. I was referring to the 70" EXP Extra. Sorry for the confusion.

Extreme Flight was well represented at the Huckfest today. Tom won the tail dunk against several Slicks and was the only plane to touch water and get away cleanly. He dunked the rudder several times in about 20 seconds. After the contest, a few orange and white planes needed hairdryers.

There was quite a bit of carnage out there today.

Stumpy,

You say that the Gens Ace Mars 3749 is a good choice but didn't you find that motor rather too long and a bit heavy for the Edge?. At 49mm long I'd expect a gap of about 10mm between spinner and cowl, and the motor is 38g heavier than recommended which may make it difficult to get the right CG (especially if you used larger batteries)? Add to that the ESC is a bit on the heavy side and I'm surprised you didn't end up nose heavy.

Steve

Hi Steve,

i tend to put a little bigger motor in almost all of my planes (running the 60" with an AXI 4120/20). The weight of the motor and the ESC is not a problem. I got it balanced to fly neutral and still have about 2,5cm to go on the battery tray. Since it is a little longer you sure have a gap between cowling and spinner... but i donīt care about that as long as it flies that fantastic.

Greetings from Germany

Marcel
