Elec motor size for a 7lbs 3D plane ???
i have been using foaming planes at 12 -18oz and have 1K kv motors that rip the sky a new one....
now i have a 6-7lbs plane and want the same unlimited performance with a elec setup...
what size motors and props do i look at?

Most vendor will rate their motor or post the motor specs along with either weight of plane recommendations or the amount of watts.
You can then knowing the weight of your plane 7pnds figure that 200watt per pound will give you 3d performance and so you are looking for a motor rated for 1400Watts.

Hacker A50 series is popular for that application. You can get different KVs to match it to 4-8 cells. 1400W is good to shoot for. You're looking at something like 5 cell 4000 or 6 cell 4000-5000. Check out the 3d hobby shop website for some recommended power systems for planes this size. The 65" Vyper is that size.
