If you are going to order from an Chinese online retail shop, you have to have realistic expectations about what you are getting into. Remember that the web-shop is just a sales portal for hundreds of different Chinese manufacturers. Some small, and some big.
There is no giant storage room with all the products neatly stacked, just waiting to be shipped as soon as you place an order. Instead the order is forwarded to the manufacturer of that product. And depending on how they are with stock, you might even have to wait for them to manufacture a new batch (JIT manufacturing). And if you order multiple products in one order, you might even have to wait for more then one manufacturer. So you have to develop a certain "fire and forget" mentality when ordering from such shops. Your order is just not going to be at your door the next couple of days or weeks for that matter. So just forget about the order, and be happily surprised when it finally arrives. In my experience with Chinese retail, GLB is actually one of the better ones when it comes to service and responsiveness. I have made about 60 orders from GLB so far. And never had a package gone "missing". The few that did not get delivered, where refunded at their own initiative with a message that the product could not be delivered. And any real problems I have had with products has been handled adequately (usually a full or partial refund to compensate for the product not matching the description). |

Of course all of the above is quite valid. However, the best chinese suppliers do make an effort to ensure...
1. Their orders are in fact going out and not being held up anywhere. 2. The stock amount and quality of their products are consistent. 3. There is open communication to the buyer. 4. All of the above has some consistency. Point 4 is probably the one that traps a lot of people. With GLB in particular, I have had zero issues until the last two orders. One item was totally misrepresented and arrived damaged anyway, and the other seems to have not been shipped for 2 months. Now GLB seems uncontactable as well. That's the deal breaker as far as buying from GLB again. With another (very popular) website, a tracking number was actually supplied for the order. 6 weeks went by and no item. One paypal complaint got my money back almost immediately, with no communication or complaint at all from the seller. And it was not a cheap item I may add. What went on with that one is anyones guess

GLB have been responsive by mail for me. But it sometimes takes a day or two before you get a dialog going. But once it has started replies are quicker.
And the sad thing is that all those people screaming bloody murder when their package isn't hand delivered the next day and threatening with pay-pal withdrawals the moment they are unhappy about anything, are probably swamping service and preventing them from helping people with real problems. |

Have placed plenty of orders and I've never had much hassles with GLB in the past (other than double the RCTimer.com shipping times).
Anyway, so I now placed a large (>$150) order on 28 sept. The website got updated almost immediately stating it had been shipped but there was no tracking nr. on the website so I didnt expect it was shipped. I did receive an email acknowledging the order. Two weeks later, still no number so 11 october I sent an email on asking about the missing tracking nr. Same day I receive an email saying they had just returned from the Chinese holiday (6day holiday which ended 6 october btw) but that an item was out of stock 12 october I received an email saying it had been shipped, two tracking nrs were included. (??) 17 october the tracking site states the order has arrived and is now being processed for shipping. Has not yet left the country.... It seems GoodLuckBuy time is of a different dimension to the rest of the planet? |
