My rear left hand side motor keeps shutting off. any ideas why? could it be the temperature? or a loose connection somewhere?

Unlikely to be the cold, I would check your connections from motor to esc. Even if the control board lost signal to the esc, the esc would plod on at the last known throttle setting. That or the cold is effecting your lipo voltage, causing it to sag more under load, this could cause the ESC's low voltage cutoff mode to kick in, which would do just what you've shown there. Food for thought.

first thing to try is swap 2 of the motors around, if it still does rear left that eliminates the motor being an issue, does it only do it when the lipo is running down? you could program the escs to nicad mode that would rule out LVC kicking in on that arm, and thats pretty easy to do .. I never bothered with my quads as I fly off OSD and can monitor the lipo in real time anyway.

I managed to shave just a couple of seconds off my 1Km time this afternoon
despite the bungy launch, the straighter flight, the lower altitude, lighter battery, the split S turn and the closer landing! If anyone comes in with a fast plane I'm done for... (Or I have to build the Mirage in a hurry)

only one bungee-related incident. the run was done with the dragon link antenna snapped and hanging in the breeze.
and the motor end of the foam is hanging on by a thread, but so long as the motor's pushing it will stay on ![]() music was Teesha - Jamyang off ministry of sound KArma collection vol 2 Sunrise which you can have if you want it! |

Just want to say a public thank you to Angelos for spending so much of his precious time trying to sort out my circuit board last night. Finally left at about midnight to drive home in the snow. Hope you got there ok - it looked a bit slippy on those tyres of yours!
Oh yes and thanks to Yogz (Paul) too, for the coffee and entertainment! Hope to get up there again soon and get some flying in. Malcolm |

You are welcome Malcolm. The tyre bit (if you noticed the slight skidding) was deliberate. I was experimenting with the traction control... had the foot to the floor and letting it regulate engine power. Impressive I must say but it can't do all the work on it's own. My tyres are great on the dry but totally useless on snow. There is no way they could have climbed over that bump on the railway crossing and they were even slipping as I was trying to build us a bit of speed to get over it. -Angelos |
