What will the next Flightline RC model be?

The partnership between Motion RC and Flightline RC (Freewing) is pretty exciting, IMHO. We've got a local online retailer, that is more than just a retailer, they are dyed in the wool R/C enthusiasts. Freewing is a quality manufacturer, taking input from Motion. What a perfect match!

The first three releases, LA-7, Sea Fury and P-38 look super exciting. Great detail, features and quality, at a very fair price point. They are also three different sizes, so they didn't just have a one size for all mentality. Nice. I have the Lightning on preorder, and will probably get the Russian bird next.

Motion has made no bones about the fact that there will be more to come. Of course, they are keeping what they may be, pretty close to their chest.

So, what do you think is coming next? Model, and wingspan. While it's tempting to make this a Wish List thread, I'd prefer to keep it more on speculation. Let's see if we can hit the nail on the proverbial head.

Here's my entry: Macchi C.202 Folgore in 1400mm Why? They don't have a 1400 yet, and this model has never been done in foam. And it's sexy as hell...

Next...

All I want is a proper 1100mm BF-109

And I know Flightline is more than capable of coming through on this.

And the Macchi is sweet as well!

I'm going to go with an 6ch F-6F Hellcat in 1400mm size. FMS's 'Cat is out of production but well remembered by those who still fly it and is still garnering interest from those who missed their chance to buy it when it was available. Since Flightline RC took up the challange of the P-38, also a well remembered FMS plane that was abandoned, I think the Hellcat is another 'sure winner' if done right (like Freewing is sure to do)! I'm hoping they implement a true 4-piece Fowler Flap design, all metal 90-100 degree rotating retracts and a catchy paint scheme with 4 squadron decal options in the box. To quote Pilot Ryan, SWEET!

Edit: my reasoning also makes a 1400-1500mm Spitfire mkIX an obvious choice too.

Surprise, it's going to be a 2100mm Nemuth Parasol. After that, I'm all ears.

The bf 190E needs to be at least 1200mm to allow for the narrow undercarriage. I think under that it would be restricted to paved surfaces. Be great if we got a 1400mm.☺

You do realize those are contradicting requirements?

I do, but there can be a good compromise between them, it doesn't have to have racer-like speed, just enough to get to 50-60mph. And those scale sized props do wonders for the vertical performance of the airplane.

I'm with Delta f106 on this; but how about a scale (airworthy) optional prop for those of us who want our scale flying models to be, well.....scale! The Durafly Spitfire Mk24 would be a good example; flies well with the stock four blade, but looks super with the optional five blade prop...and still flies very well.
Oh, and why didn't the SeaFury get a plastic leading edge on the cowling like the La7? That thick foam edge really doesn't look very nice; rather a missed opportunity there, Motion/FNRC?

As far as future releases.....how about an Arado 234? Freewing do very nice jets...that would be a nice flyer. 1600mm wingspan, 90mm EDFx2, flaps, retracts ( F16 - type undercarriage would work). Be a nice stablemate for the Freewing Me262, too!

Blue Skies!
