At organized float flies, there's usually a safety zone along the shoreline, say 50' wide, where you are expected to taxi at idle, or at least "off step". Outside of that zone, you can taxi fast or slow, just stay in the "pattern", and call your intentions loud enough for the other pilots to hear. Just the normal, common sense courtesies that you'd use at any field or fly-in.
