I'm getting confused with all these new helis. This looks like a 400 sized flybarless with a tail motor. Might be a really good entry level CP.

Looks like a double size V200D02 with CP blades.

I saw this last night on the walkera site. It would be a winner with a shaft drive and brushless motor, i just hate to take 2 steps backwards to a brushed motor system and no shaft drive. i think if i was going to go bigger I'd go with that V450D01 to get those 2 features.

Yeam but this could be a good alternative to the Blade SR for a beginner CP if the price is right. A tail motor makes a CP a lot easier to fix.

3 Axis too so as long as it doesn't have SR tail-itus...and the motor lasts well then may be a nice cheap beginners heli.

But you have to be a Golden Knight, else it is not available to you!

I think what they're trying to do is cover all the bases in terms of price point, brushed motors are tons cheaper and this will probably be a much lower price point than the V450D01 is. I'd bet it's not much more money than the V200D02 is.

Anyone try one?

I'm not really considering this since every Walkera I have owned never really worked. However, this one seemed interesting as it looks like the easiest to repair CP...and with the 3-Axis gyro, it could be a good trainer. I'm just hesistant on anything Walkera. Does the 3-Axis gyro actually work ok?

I would go for a basic HK450, it seems cheap to maintain. Or, you can go with Walkera 1#a which does work well and will not scare the out of you.

I have one and I love it. I would not go with anything other than belt for beginner CP. Tail motor is easy to fix but I just don't like the idea of it. The belt system on the 1#a is super simple.

The electrics off the v400d02 might be a good swap out to a CP3. Then you might get the benefits of the very robust Esky CP3 plus a solid tail that the current Walkera RX's offer. If you have a 2801p TX you could do some tuning as well.

I think I would give this a miss. It is very likely that a V400D01 with a single brushless motor will be released soon.

I actually would be very interested in a 450 Size heli designed on the lines of a V200D02 with the tail motor in the main body driving the tail via torque tube. Both brushless motors of course but the reason I'd be interested is for scale projects. It's pretty tight to get a servo and push rod to fit in a fuselage and a DD tail motor is not very scale. You also don't need a "rock solid" tail for scale flying as you're not doing crazy 3D tricks with it. I would prefer it to be CP though.
