The bbwing - bonsai/tek sumo inspired

This is my 1st wing and 1st time designing plans myself. I got some great help from jackerbes over in the power systems forum.

Some details of specs and gear:Got some video of it and from it on its maiden day.
bbwing Maiden flights scratch built flying wing (4 min 16 sec)

It does require some constant up elevator to maintain altitude but otherwise flies well and has lots of power.

I got some more video today which ill post soon.

After painting, balancing the prop and a few other adjustments it flew much nicer and took much better video from the onboard cam.

I painted using really cheap enamel paints, the key to not eating the foam is to do it from about a foot away and do it in the sun so the paint dries as fast as possible.

That looks good. The up elevator is normal. Do some research with reflex, and you'll see it's not only normal, it's required to fly properly.

Thanks for the tip, i read up about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tailles...inal_stability.

And from answers.com:

An airfoil in which the mean chord line curves upward toward the trailing edge. This is to provide a download well aft of the center of gravity, increasing with air speed, in a tailless aircraft.

Two cases of reflex chamber.
The wiki page also gave some useful info for my next planned build of a slope soaring wing.

this is my slope soarer design but it looks like im going to have to add some sweep to the wings to move the cg back because as it is its a bit too far forward.
