Toys-4-Tots FUN Contest
Sunday, December 16, 2012
CD: Mark Child and Terry Throop
Sign up at 8:00am-Pilot’s Meeting at 8:45am-First Flight at 9:00am
3 Rounds of 7 minutes target times
Scoring will be 950 flight points and 50 landing points
Landing task will be announced at contest, be ready for surprise landing task

There will be four classes flown – Open, RES, Open ALES, Foamy ALES
ALES is assisted launch, no MOM format
Foamy ALES is for Radians, Cularis, and Easy Star type of planes
Pilot may fly two classes

Awards will be 1st-3rd for each class

Entrance fee is a new un-wrapped at least $10.00 toy for Marines Toys-4-Tots for each class flown plus $5.00 field fee for each competitor
Event to be held at SULA’s Field of Dreams located on Westmont Drive at N. Gaffey St. San Pedro

These are short enough tasks...why don't we fly four rounds? We can still be done flying by 1pm or so.

Hi Tom,

I could try to do 4 rounds if everyone is in agreement to that. We could bring it up at the Pilots' meeting, but the bottom line is that I have to be out of the park by no later than 1:00pm. This is our normal time to be out of the park and we haven't requested a later time.

Trophies for Toys-4-Tots

In keeping with the Toys-4-Tots theme, here is the picture of the trophies for the 4 classes to be flown at the contest. These are bears were rescued from Salvation Army and other thrift shops, cleaned up and will be presented as the trophies. They will be presented to the winners by allowing them to select the bear that they want. We will announce the winners and then they will be able to select their bear.

One week from this Sunday, December 9, is the SULA & DSH Toys-4-Tots contest. Bring out your toys to fly with your donated toys for the Marines and make this event a successfull fun day for everyone.

Almost got in all 3 rounds, probably should have waited a bit, as it cleared out. 2 rounds completed. Big thanks to Soaring USA for donating awards to the winners of each class.
