My 2 minute Zoom Video

down_shift shot this video of me practicing some loops with my Zoom. Between work, family and weather, there's not much time to fly these days so it seems I spend most of my flight time dusting the cobwebs off my flying skills.

Hey, at least I don't crash

True. My stock motor is still running strong. I just don't feel limited by it at this stage so there's no point in spending $150 for a BL motor and ESC.

Well impressed!

Hey well done fishstyx. I was impressed by your demonstration, so impressed I am going to buy one. I was thinking of the Zoom as my next heli after an Aerohawk, you have just made up my mind, thanks.

Cool Mailee, you won't be dissapointed. Keep in mind that I am a very mediocre heli pilot. I'm lucky if I get an hour or two of flying per week (sometimes none at all).

I see videos of expert pilots tossing their micro helis around 3D and make it look easy. Well, in my experience it's not. My first attemps at some basic loops with my Hornet 2 ended up in disaster. The Hornet is very twitchy in the lightest of winds and simply takes a long time for me to get the confidence that I'm in control. The Zoom took maybe half the time to get confident.

The Zoom flies more like 30 size helis than any other micro I've flown. It's stable, predictable and compared to the CCPM setup on the Hornet 2 (for example) it's much easier to setup.

Nice Video Fishstyx. Good to see how well a Stock Zoom/Zap flys.
I was going to order a Himax Brushless (before my Zoom even gets airborne) but in the last week I've decided to get it up in pretty much stock form initially. Your Video confirms my decision.

Nice video! I must have had bad luck with my stock motor. Only lasted a few flights then it didn't have enough power to hardly hold a hover. Once I moved to the Hacker the Zoom really came to life!

I was surprised how much power my stock motor had. In normal mode, the throttle curve doesn't go over 85%. I'm turning about 2000 RPM. My Zoom is not light weight either. AUW is 515g.

I bought hubdave's belt mod, but haven't installed it yet. With the heli flying so well, I'm reluctant to carve it up, but I'll get around to it.
