Yes, could be that. On powered landings, the problem is far less evident.

Walou, I didn't notice any 'rise than stall' on landing. Perhaps windmilling was not an issue with the smaller 3 bladed props I used.
AUW is unknown. I'll find out.
CG is as posted in info. I did extend the battery tray and installed another servo for future use.
Headed out of town so I won't get a chance to fly her till the 17th.

How about that. I just finished putting one of these together for a flying buddy. He ordered the same motors that you did, but we're running a 5000mAh 3S pack and 11x7 props. I modified the tail so that its removable - held in with two threaded 4-40 rods. Very lucky that I made that mod, as some creature had eaten most of one of the top-right corner stringers - which we would have never known about until it was too late!

First first flight was last Sunday. On board video is here :
The Cri Cri (4 min 36 sec)

(Yes our field is tiny)

e: broken video link! Fixed.

I set my friend's plane (two posts above!) up with flaperons. Just a modest amount - maybe 5 degrees of down flap. It seems to help with the plane rotate better on takeoff.

The motor pod arms flex slightly forward and down as you throttle up, which coupled with the model's high thrustline drives the nose down. Going to add a throttle -> elevator mix to counteract that tendency.

(cool option : replace the aluminum arms with CF ones!)

We've also upped the power. Same motors and ESCs, now on a 4S 4000 battery. Props are APC-E 10.5X5. 62A and around 1050W total. Performance is greatly improved - it now cruises comfortably at half throttle and has ample climbing authority at WOT. We shot video of that flight as well... I'll post the link once its ready.

I think he did. The amount used is very slight, so I don't think it made much of a difference.

4S video is up!

The Cri Cri Second Flight on 4S (6 min 16 sec)
