CD motor question. 25 mm Toshiba 5701B
I know this has been answered probably 100 times before but I just spent two hours trying to find the answer. Hopefully somebody can lead me in the right direction.
The best CD motor that I have ever seen was some that Birdie built us. They were made from Toshiba 5701 drives with 25mm motors. Well I bought 5 tore them all apart and now have the stack shown in the picture. Now I am trying to break them down further but cant seem to figure it out. On the backside of the shaft there is a small snap ring I took it off but the bell wont pull off. Any suggestions? Anybody use these before?
I have a few of these. You need to take the cotter pin out
from the very back. This will release the 3mm rod and then you
can take the can off.
Then you take like an 8mm socket and place it on the center
of the bearings(at the front). Give it a couple of good taps with
a hammer and it will shoot out the back. You can then take
the bearing tube and reattach it or use something else.
