Gyrocopter W6625 shaft gear is not engaging motor gear

There appears to be a gap between the lower propellor support and the top of the propeller body support. Because of this , the top gear and shaft are able to slide down which causes the shaft gear to lose contact with the motor gear. This would be the upper gear losing contact with the rear motor. The end result is that the rotor blades won't spin.

Anybody know How did this gap developed and how to fix it?
