Central Arkansas Club wanted

I'm moving from Louisville to just outside Little Rock, Arkansas in a month. I have searched the web looking for a club in central Arkansas, but to no avail.

So, is there a a club in the Little Rock area?

Thanks.

AMA's website lists 4 in the LR area, but doesn't specify if they're sailplane-oriented. Maybe give each a call and see where the soaring is going on down there

Cheers!

Yes there is, and we have a fantastic flying site at Scott, a small town just outside Little Rock. Drop me a PM or email and I'll send you some contact phone numbers.

The field is used for sailplanes, electrics, and free flight. No glow engines allowed except on free flight models. It's a big sod farm, the picture shows about 10% of the field.

Nobody will be there next weekend though, we'll all be at SMALL, the best and wierdest RC flyin anywhere in the mid-south.

Sod Farms

Are they not the best. If I did not know better I would say that is the Red Hen Turf Farm in New Carlise. In.. Nothing better than WFO flying space.
If Jessica will let me I will be there this weekend but her illness makes me want to stay close to home and unable to make Woodcrafters. Love, the only thing better than soaring at a turf farm or a contest.

Come on down (UP) Joe. Once you've flown at Scott, you won't go back!

This is great news! I currently live in WA and plan to move to Cabot/North Little Rock in a few years. Glad to see there's a dedicated silent flight field. I just returned from a house hunting trip to AR but I couldn't find the time to visit the field. Look forward to flying there in the future.

Jim,

The fliers at Scott are a small fun dedicated group. I really don't see them too much because I can't always fly when they do, and visa versa. There is a club called FAST, First Arkansas Soaring Team. The Dues are a big $5.00 per year! AMA required. I think it's primarily to control who goe's to the field. It really is a great location and it could be lost if we don't abide by the sod farm rules.
