New to FPV Quads

Title says it all! Sorry if I haven't searched enough in the forums yet and hopefully I don't get yelled at (totally would get destroyed for this in the Subaru forums), but this place is massive and there's so much to take in!

I'm just looking for pointers to a handful of the most valuable links to peruse. I live in San Diego, and my interests are to find local guys (if they exist) that do FPV racing. As I am new to FPV and quads, I would like to learn as much as possible about both of these areas as well. Thanks guys! Looking forward to getting into this!

FYI I bought a Hubsan X4 to practice with, and plan on piecing together my own FPV quad setup, and taking it to the next levels quickly from there. I want to get into racing, or motivate a group to get into it, as I have a lot of cool ideas about where we can take this! Or maybe you guys already have a lot of this going and I can join up!

Ok so first things first, welcome to the wonderful world of FPV! Now, you really want to start off with something basic. You want to start off simple so getting the 5.8Ghz will be the best option. If your looking to fly with goggles, then get a pair of fatsharks. I personally fly with the Fatshark Attitudes. If you want to fly with a monitor, then buy a monitor. Preferebly from ReadyMadeRC. Now once you've decided, I have some links that will take you to where you need to go.

For goggles: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=2283

For Monitor: http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1968

Now the monitor package is actually a little better equipment wise. It comes with a better FPV transmitter and antennas. I still would try and get the goggles. It gives you a more immersive feel when your flying. Especially if your trying to get into racing(I would not try this until you get pretty good). Now that being said, I would actually try and find some goggles from a member off this forum. Just go to the classified section, then go to the FPV equipment. If you cant find a pair of fatsharks, post a wanted ad just stating that your looking for some goggles. Usually someone has some that they'll sell. Just don't pay to much! If your buying from a member make sure, if your getting the Attitude goggles, that they are within the 200-250 range. Once you have the goggles situated, go back to readymaderc.com and buy this list of items...

For the antennas you want circularly polarized antennas:

For the FPV Transmitter you want to get this:
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=266

For the camera, get this:
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1564

Now, if you don't want to buy a used pair of goggles, just buy the antennas that I suggested along with the goggle package. Don't buy the antennas if you are going to get a monitor though. Those are already included in the package.
Sorry for my long response. I just want to be as thorough as possible.

Really great info, thanks so much! The antenna link is for the transmitter though! Would you mind fixing that hyperlink for me? I'll probably go with new goggles.
