Sprayed some clear, first a little, then more. I ran to my painting supplier, aka Home Depot to get some more. I got back and some wrinkles had appeared only on top of the wing and only on a couple of the checkers.

Them ain't wrinkles, they is micro turbulator spars to improve the lift performance...

You forgot to add the ghost flames, now you can do it right....

What are the layers beneath the clear and what did you use for clear again?

Oh, that just B-LOWS. I hate that and I'm glad I didn't read this a few hours ago. I just cleared my Zephyr, Zero and Lancair. Fortunately no issues. I used 2 part auto clear (in a spray can) that I get from West Coast Airbrush. At $25 a can this stuff ain't cheap but it's hella good!

Scotch... I like to call it "aiming fluid". I lately I need it, especially on the putting green!

There is a 2k clear in a spray can with nice nozzle, it is a urethane 2 part with special can that pierces the 2 pak to mix. Produces a nice finish and can get vertical or horizontal fan pattern from nozzle.
I and a lot of motorcycle (and car guys) use it on motorcycle tanks for top coat to be fuel proof.
Nothing worse than having a fuel spill dull the paint you worked hard on...
Or clear coat screwing up your work.
