Woot -- new parts came in for my UMX Sbach this morning.

Gonna mount a replacement prop, new spinner, new prop adapter, AND going to convert from the stock 2500KV motor to the quieter and more powerful Beast V1 2300KV motor that I just got.

Then, I am heading out this afternoon to the local park to see if we can get some hovering captured on the little critter that is good enough to submit to the Sbach hover contest thread!

Even if I can't hover it worth a darn, should still be a good time, with weather report predicting light breezes, sunshine and temps approaching 80!

A pack just finished charging for my monster-powerful Slipso. I already went and checked out the conditions at the huge playing fields over by the lake and everything looks good. I have a camera as well as a clever mount for it made of prop adapters and a big clamp which I will attach to my bike to film the event.

Recap: Slipso400 airframe, Mega 16/15/2 motor, APC 4.1x4.1, 60A ESC, 3S 1800mAh 30C pack. Top speed is projected to be in the 150-160mph range, fastest I've ever flown.

Here goes nothing?

Well got to put everything on hold for a while. I'm going to try to get out and fly one more time this weekend.

Flying was excellent. I did a detailed write-up over on the Slipso thread. The landing was a bit snowy, but all's well. I freakin love this plane now

Hittin' the field tomorrow with a re-invigorated Crack Pitts:

Upgraded motor to 3S, and new ESC, and re-propped.

Running it up in the house, it lifts into hover at half throttle, with tons more on tap, so as good as this critter has been running on 2S, I think the 3S will give me the confidence that I can drag this kite back home, even in reasonable winds. Right now, if it is more than a slight breeze, I don't even take it out of the car for fear of running out of thrust to get it back.

Just got back from the club's XMas party. Pontoons galore. No flying for me

Looks like about 5mph and a temp of 60 this afternoon after work. All charged up!
