I have pair of Turnigy Super brain 100A ESC's. They look very good in quality. Those are made by Hifei Technology. I know this because I have upgraded the firmwire with newest Hifei since the one rebranded as Turnigy didn't work.
So I'm not that suprised to see 200A and 300A controllers very similar on their pages too.

I wonder why specialized manufacturer like Castle or other doesn't this same route below to make available to us something similar?

no us company will touch and esc that can handle over 14s for liability reasons...anything over that puts the voltage in rythym with the human heart, thus resulting in cardiac arrest when electricuted. easytigermodels does have a 14s esc, i think i can handle 16s but its only set to 14s

re-branded

They make ESC for other companies and have them re-branded. The original HET series used the same controler card as the hifei and I am still using an HET ESC on my 70MM F-16 and on orignal Hifei Branded on my MB-339. In short, they been around for at least 3-4 years that I know of.

I have some 24 cell 300 amp controllers

I have been a licensed electrical contractor for about 30 years - and these toy airplane controllers petrify me. Lets just look at lighting a building with a 32 watt 4 foot fluorescent lamp.

My controller is a 24 cell 300 amp and that adds up to lighting 900 fluorescent lamps.

Does that seem like a bit of power? it scares the hell out of me and I feel I have a comprehension to plug this all together

I think the manufacturers are reluctant to put something like this in someones hands

Anyone know where Fightercat Racing vanished to?.

HiModel sells HIFEI ESCs but not the HV line. Maybe a email to them will get them to stock some.

I found them in the USA at OffshoreElectrics.com $289.99 for the 300 Amp Pro+

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...word-300pro%2B

They call it a Sworfish ESC but it is made by HIFEI and looks identical.

Liability reasons? Aren't those controllers sold in the US for other purposes like Electric bikes or scooters?

I just bought the latest 250Amp ESC from Turnigy, suppose to handle 14S. I'm fitting it in my latest project, second 127mm EDF "Panther" that will run only on 12S with some180Amp current draw on full stick. This time I'm going to install it outside of the duckting then my other model where I use CC160 fitted internally, Joe.

YGE, YEP, What?

YGE esc's are European and expensive but seem to have a good reputation but mostly in heli's. HK came up with a YEP 120 14s look alike except a lot less expensive so I ordered 3 to try them out. Seems like running 100 amp 12s esc close to it's rating as I have been doing has too many failures. That gave me some headroom in voltage and current since I dont plan to go above 12s. I put the first one in my MB 339 and since they had no stock on the programmer, I flew it as it came and it must have been in heli mode as the acceleration was real sloooow. I flew several flights that way but was able to order a YGE programmer and it worked just fine.

I have since ordered a YEP 180 14s and programmer from HK to run my 5 inch (125 mm) fans and did some 12s testing today. The YEP programmer appears to be identical to the YGE. First test was at 114 amps and 4500 watts for 30 seconds part throttle to generate worst case heating. The fets went from 70 F to 106 F with no airflow. Next, a full minute at full throttle ~5500 watts and the fets went from 70 F to 108 F. These esc's have no heat sinks and run amazingly cool so they must be very efficient. I ran 8 khz which also helps. They also have anti spark built in so you do nothing but plug in with no spark. Any body running these out there and know anything about the YEP, YGE connection? I have great optimism but it is winter and am not able to fly much.

I am using the YEP 120A HV esc in my 1/8 F16 with 12S 5000. I also got the programming card from HK. I have a slow ramp up too and haven't made an adustment yet. Only three flights so far. Motor is the orignal XPS extreme version. My understanding is the YEP is copy of older design YGE esc.

f16 3rd flight (4 min 14 sec)
