G-RIDE - Update and thank you.

Your ride is here- see you at SEFF!

I thought I'd take the time to thank some very special e-zoners that helped with the G-RIDE project (In no particular order).

Robert Wolfe
Steve Dworsky
Scott Stoops
Todd Hamilton

Thanks guys your assistance and insight was very much appreciated.

Wow. Almost a shame to cover it. It makes me want rush out and buy one, but I should really finish rebuilding my CAP 232 first .

Looks great! I love the final lines. IMHO the beauty of this plane is that it flies even better than it looks. Tracks beautifully and is totally honest in the stall yet will snap roll like a demon when asked nicely ;-) Great job Bill!

Ha! That's exactly how it works.

Somehow I don't think it would go that smoothly.

So, is this the design that is comming "out" at SEFF or another design?

I love the G-ride and right now am currently torn between the Cap and the G-ride.. I'd really love to see an Edge 540 but I think that is a ways off for most kits makers.. So, I'll have to pick out of what's available.. Haven't built an Stevens Aero kit yet..

Tram,

This is not the kit that was entered in the "best new" contest at SEFF. It will be released at SEFF. Details for the SEFF contest kit will be availiable at SEFF

Just to let everyone know, I built what Bill calls a "prototype" kit. Simply amazing! The parts fit and the sheer number of precision parts was incredible!

I was able to assemble (note:assemble not build!) the whole airframe in just a couple of evenings. EVERYTHING either locks together or in some way self aligns no way to screw this kit up!

The only thing I used a knife for was to release the parts from the sheets!

If you look at Bill's pics please note that every little part you see is already cut and ready to go...the amount of time Bill must have in this kit just drawing up the massive number of parts staggers me! By the way this plane is light! to the best of my recollection the bare airframe weighs in around 4 ozs. (don't have my note with right now so I may be off a little) and it is VERY strong...the wing feels pretty much bulletproof..I beam spar, T beam leading edge and a boxed trailing edge...this thing is NOT going to flex in the air!

Ok you want to know how the plane flys?...well me too! Due to situation beyond my control the madien flight have been postponed until TONIGHT!...Auto accident, Fathers day, Yard work, a wedding all took their toll on my flying time last week!

Will report later tonight on flight performance, but this thing is pretty light and has quite a bit of wing area so should do well.

More Later....Sorry you will just have to wait a while!
