Not all. Only V2.

Since December 2014 the new Junsi 4010duos have a built in balancer protection. You should ask for this when you buy a new one!

That is a nice solution.
However, it being a parallel board, I don't think that will work on a 8s lipo with 2 (4s) connectors.
Or am I being silly?

It's only up to 6S which suit me since 6S is my primary battery. Not sure how to deal with dual balance plugs cause I've never had any.

It doesn't. You could use this parallel board from Revolectrix.

Could just be a loose screen ribbon wire. You could open it up and see if you can fix the connection.

Why would you not contact the place of purchase?

A question for you parallel charging gurus.
Could the balance only function of the icharger be run initially to safely equalize packs connected to a parallel board with batts of varying voltage( example: one pack with cells from 3.5 volts and one pack with cells of 4 volts) prior to parallel charging?
Thanks!

The answer is : no!
The „balance only“ function is not the right way, because the packs equalize themselves immediately, when the packs been connected together on the parallel board. The charge current into the more discharged pack and the parallel board would be too high.
Some users suggest in this case, only connect the balance plugs on a save paraboard with polyfuses on the balance connectors. This should limit the current through the balance wires. I didn`t try this.
The saver way is, to discharge/charge each pack separate to a common storage level.
Maybe you could put the energy of the more charged pack, by using the „channel to channel“ charge function and stop it manually, when roughly even.

The short answer is no.
You can discharge the charged packs into the discharged packs using regenerative discharge mode. Personally as long as I have at least 2 discharged packs I'll connect the 2 discharged packs mains to the board and then connect 1 full charged lipo and discharge it into the others. I've monitored it with a wattsup meter and on 6S 3300mah it peaked at 20A which is only 3C into the 2 packs and it does not hold that peak for very long. That's actually a rare scenario for me. Usually I have 6-8 discharged packs and 2-4 still charged.
