List of GCS's

I was wondering whether people could list the different GCS's used in amateur UAV controlling today?
I am looking to build my own and just wanted to see what the current state of the art was like.

I do, perhaps you know it better and could tell me the phrase I need to search to return a list of GCS's for amateur UAV's?

Funnily enough this thread is at the top for "List GCS Amateur UAV".

Good list, however most of the links were broken and some of them seemed irrelevant to the amateur sUAS scene.

I'm talking more about the GCS's people use on autopilots like ArduPilot and AttoPilot.

One interesting idea I did like in that link was the circuit diagram with red connections if something happened to a component however.

HK GCS
APM Mission Planner
QGroundControl

All these work with ArduPilot and ArduCopter. HK GCS also works with a load of other autopilots, including AttoPilot, Gluonpilot, the UAVDevBoard etc.

Most of the development is over at DIY Drones, so you might check there for more info.

By ground control station are you talking hardware, software or both? Unless you're talking military software, to the best of my knowledge, only QGoundcontrol and my GCS can control multiple platforms.

So it's more a function of which auto pilot hardware you're using will determine which GCS is available for it.

QGoundcontrol seems the most potent for expansions.. Will be looking to it closely next months. I think should and could be industrial standard

Qgroundcontrol looks nice, and has a nice list of features, but it runs like total crap. Way too sluggish to use in any real situation. Ive tried it on several platforms, and it just doesnt cut it.

Thanks for the list zlite.

To clarify what I am looking for, it is just amateur systems that would run on normal consumer devices (so this includes mobile hardware).

I noticed a blog today at DIYDrones about Copter-GCS, seems like a nice little GCS incursion into the mobile space.

Also to clarify I would also like to see any GCS's that aren't open source or that users have rolled themselves, I recall seeing something somewhere that they exist, but I haven't been able to find any.

That's a bit of a bizarre request Narwhal, but on par for you I guess.

I too am looking for the GCS option from Microsoft....

I don't understand your post... as per usual I think you have misunderstood my basic request:
A list of GCS's for amateur UAV hobbyists that run on consumer devices (eg. laptops, desktops or mobile devices).

Is this really so bizarre to you? To have someone ask for a list of GCS's?

I grow weary of your trolling, if you have something constructive to add then by all means add it, if not why not just not post?

What's bizarre about your request is you're looking for a list of seemingly commerical GCS software packages (since open source and "user rolled" are not commercial) for an "amateur UAV."

Post #7: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...66&postcount=7 specified that GCS's generally are not cross UAV platform...which means if you buy a commercial UAV, it will have it's own commercial GCS. They go together. But you're looking for a commercial GCS that works with an amateur UAV. So the UAV is open-source or "user rolled" but the GCS is to be written by some commerical company.... yes, that makes perfect sense.

Here are a few options to consider - These are all amateur/"user rolled" UAVs. And by that I mean they are small companies, individuals or educators who decided to start building a UAV...they are not some big multi-national corporation.

Paparazzi: GCS HK GCS (Partial Compatibility)
Gluonillot: GCS HK GCS (Partial Compatibility)
ArduPilot Legacy: Labview GCS HK GCS
ArduPilot Mega: APM Planner QGroundControl HK GCS
AttoPilot: HK GCS Millswood GCS
UavDevBoard: HK GCS Maybe QGroundControl?
FY21AP/FY3ZT: GCS HK GCS (Partial Compatibility)
Robota: GCS
PixHawk: QGroundControl Maybe HK GCS? Maybe APM planner?
OpenPilot: GCS
Ruby: Unknown

So which of those count as commercial GCS's?

None, however that list is exactly what I wanted. Why you think I wanted a "commercial" GCS though is a mystery, as in none of those posts you quoted me on did I alude to that. Never the less, thank you.
