There is a good thread on this heli over in Mini heli section. 450 is a mini not large heli. Good luck sounds like you have good gear in heli.
Micro 100 to 400.
mini 450's
Large 500 on up

450 help

Well, I saw the tail go. Low enough for the tail to make one complete rotation,
nose right. So I would investigate the gyro and or servo. There are a number
of reasons for tail loss.
Regards

I've watched the video a dozen times and it looks like a shotgun blast hit it to me! Have you taken it apart yet? It happened so fast I'd guess there was a part failure and should be easy to find. Doesn't look like it hit the ground too hard.

If you slow the playback speed down, you can see it start to shake just before it loses control. Based on that, it doesn't look like a mechanical failure. It looks like something forced the Aileron or Pitch Servo to jump to max. Very strange!! Perhaps a rouge signal interference?

After watching a few more times I did notice the skids shake. It's still so painful to watch. I downloaded it but don't have a player that I can slo mo with.

You don't need to download it... once the video is playing, just click on "Settings" (the little gear icon) in the bottom right. You can control the playback speed and quality.
