9oz flying weight motor suggestions.
Hey guys, I'm building an outdoor 3d flat foam plane. It will be running a 20amp esc on 3 cells. Total weight is just under 9oz. My current motor is way to much so I'm searching for a new one but don't really understand all the KV and watt talk. Please help!

Use the wing loading page to calculate your stall speed to then allow you to choose a motor prop combo.
Or post up all the dimensions of the plane and its dry weight and we could have a fiddle with the online calcs to give you an idea.

Calculate Wing Loading, Area & Stall Speed
Wingspan: inches 26
Wing Root Chord: inches 7
Wing Tip Chord: inches5.5
Or the Average Chord: inches 6.3
Or the Wing Area: sq.in 163.8
Model Weight: ounces 8
Max Lift Coefficient:
WING LOADING: oz/sq.ft 7.3
CUBIC LOADING: oz/cu.ft. 6.59
STALL SPEED: mph 13.1
I'm not sure if that is what you were looking for but that is what I get when I put the numbers in.

I run the 1300kv 24g Bluewonder from HobbyKing on a couple dozen planes and the 1500/1700Kv as well.
It powers my 10-13ozs planes with better than one to one thrust, about 14ozs of thrust on a 3 cell.
So for a 9oz plane, it should have enough power to do lots of 3D.
