Good news!
I found another servo in the shop that had a good gear to fit in the bad servo, no hacking up the wing, yeah!

Started to rebuild the fuse after lawn darting it. I lost the elevator on launch and it got to about 120' and came down a a 70 degree angle and stuck into semi soft sod. The wing and tail feather are intact but I have to replace the aileron control horns. The boom broke 3" behind the wing and the nose crunched right in front of the wing. Easy fix except for the control rods to the rear needing replacement.

Great flying weather today. I set my new personal best with a 6:47 flight on my TS2. I also set a new best in altitude on a different flight, although I don't know exactly how high. I got high enough that I felt the need to come back down when it got too small!

Got the Vlad Helios out into some DEAD air tonight. No wind, no thermals to speak of, just stagnant buttery air 2 hours before sunset.

Got a 7:00 flight on the last throw. Never hit launch height after 1st push over, but was able to loiter and occasionally climb a few feet at times.

She was PERFECT!

Took my polyhedral ship (still fully F3K compliant) out this evening. Worked some soft thermals for as much as 4 minutes at times, then closed out with three, 2-minute flights as the sun hit the skyline.

Great way to wind up the working day.

Yours, Greg

New fuse is on the way from Seba . I'll hopefully get my vlad carbon zone V2 DLG flying before the real cold and wet set in. I need to build a micro dlg to fly indoors this winter ...

Added a "yaw adjuster" to my NEOS..

... and went and flew it. Certainly makes an improvement on handling in the landing zone.

Still to decide if its an improvement in lumpy air.

Hutton

PS Thomas, how did yaw NEOS perform with a Rudder?

I had some lovely, albeit short, flights yesterday evening. Longest was only 3 mins. The air was still, and it was a great opportunity to play with different techniques and settings. This morning, I also found my first tender spot on my middle finger tip from throwing! It reminds me of the feeling in your finger tips when learning to play the guitar. Is this part of why some folks wear a throwing glove?!

Mine are all sitting in the basement packed in the model box.
They (and me) should be on the other side of the continent, but weather cancelled our contest

I got to fly my new to me dlg firefly thanks to Paul the builder, today was my second day and man this is a blast to do. I managed to get in 2 5 min flights, im still learning how to hook thermals quickly but that's not so easy I need to learn more about getting into them, but either way it's alot of fun I threw it around for 3hrs non stop.
