Engine break-in or run-in

I got a Trex 600N and an OS .55HZ engine for Xmas. This will be my first nitro build. All my planes (sans Zagi) are nitro. I took the time to break them in on a test stand before I mounted them in the airplanes. My big block Saito 4 strokers didn't really get dialed in until after 8 hours of run time. Do any of you break your heli engines in? If so, how do you do it? And for how long?
Thanks in advance!!

I've never bolted a heli engine on a test stand. I always assemble the helicopter and go flying. Now, during the first few flights, I adjust the needles to get a rich setting while the temperature is still coming up into the operating range. I fly this way for the first 3 tanks. After that I start leaning the needles until I get enough power while still operating at a reasonable temperature. After about 6-8 tanks, I do not worry about breaking-in anymore.

Thanks guys! That is what I will do. I noticed after I started this post that the heli engine(s) came (comes) without a propeller type thrust bearing so mounting a prop to it is out of the question.

Yup, thats because there is no point.

Doing autos is great for heat cycling. Nice smooth climb outs followed by a cool down period.

Start out slightly rich but enough as Rafael says, to get it up to operating temp. As the ring seats you will notice it needs leaning a bit at a time, when it quits needing tweaked, its there.

The biggest thing is to not but undue loads on the engine for a few flights till that ring seats (like repeated tic-tocs) or leaning it out too far.
