Poll
Which CAD program (s) do you use?

Vote for the program (s) you are actually using to design models today. You can vote for more than one, but please restrict your votes to programs you are actively using today -- not the programs you no longer rely upon. If your CAD software is not on the list, please tick "other" and then post the name of the software below. Thank you for your vote and your help.

Note that this is CAD software only. We can run separate polls for CAM and CNC.

Corel Draw is NOT featured, and I use it extensively.

So that's a mess up for a start.

No point in voting at all.

I thought Corel Draw was a drawing program. Seems to me that if so, those would go into a distinct poll. Anyway, sorry it isn't on the list. Michael

I thought CAD meant computer aided design

If that isn't a list of drawing programs, I don't know what is.

I guess all of those models being sold out there, drawn on Corel, aren't really CAD designed after all.

You had better tell the laser cutter manufacturers who like to talk to Corel, that they are using a drawing program, that isn't suitable for proper design, as well.

Sheesh.

You had better tell Microsoft that since their operating system is ALSO suitable for playing games, they shouldn't sell it as suitable to run CAD programs on.

I will apologize again then. No criticism of CorelDRAW is intended. None. It was a sin of omission to leave it off the list but that’s all it was.

I invited a review of the list the day before I launched the poll. That would have been the best time to point out this or any other problem. Regrettably a poll cannot be edited, or we would simply go in and fix it.

I've never used them myself, but the vector drawing programs seem very popular for cad. Like for signs, vinyl cutting and most importantly laser cutting. If you look up any laser cutting service, normally they will have a favorte cad and vector format listed. For example, I did a quick google and this company uses CorelDRAW 12 and TurboCAD professional version 11: http://www.pololu.com/docs/0J24/5

additional program

I occasionally use Art of illusion. It is not strictly a CAD porogram but can be used for final presentation of three D models including animation. Its a freeware open acccess program.

Nice to see so many Solidworks users! And I'm not sure why the poll only includes SW 2008. We're using SW 2009 and we will switch to 2010 very soon.

24+ people using Solid Works. Maybe it should have it's own thread, with tips and tricks etc.
