Presumably most people been able to restrain themselves from doing the nasty in the middle of the street at rush hour, or on the refreshments table at the Christmas party. And I assume most proponents of forcing the unwilling to pay for someone else's contraceptives retain the same incredible level of self control. It shouldn't be too much trouble then to assume actual responsibility for one's own birth control concerns. |

Personal responsibility, accountability, self discipline et al are the enemy of liberalism. Everything is someone else's problem

That means they take, and you give. like the guy who stops by when the well is almost done, does one shovelfull, if you're lucky, and proclaims himself a helper who contributed so should get water. (you hear a lot about the 'contribution' of net takers) Remember...the constant of modern liberalism is that everyone *elses* selfishness concerning you is OK, but your own for you, is not. The insane outcome of their irrational, twisted thinking is that the only person who is illegitimately selfish about your actions and resources...is YOU. |

This is getting silly - there are 101 reasons for contraception and 101 reasons for supporting contraceptive measures that are nothing to do with 'responsibility' (lame...) or 'personal morality' (blah blah blah).
From the prevention of STD's spreading (yep that's right buddy - you don't want the next door's teenage kid giving your wife something she might bring home, if she's playing away...) as just one example. Then there are a whole raft of unwanted pregnancy issues, orphans left dependant on the state for example - wouldn't the right 'whingers' be drivelling on ad nauseum about those come the day! No - not a bit of it - it's not just a case of 'if you want to play then down to you' I do despair of my fellow man at times! |
