Did you loosen the prop nut and ensure the collet (item C in picture) was pulled back? The whole assembly needs to be loose in order to slip on.

If it still wont go on then you need to spread the "fingers" so it can slip onto to motor shaft.

Just the shaft on it's own, tried to spread it with a flat head screw driver didn't work.

Just want to know if the Extra 300s shaft is the same, otherwise I'll have to order one from another state no biggy just have to wait longer compared to being able to go buy the Extra 300 shaft from my LHS.

I think it is too short.
Wedge a small screw driver between the fingers to spread them.

Fixed it! I put it in a vice, stuck a flat head screw driver in each gap and banged it with a hammer.

Had a great flight today, but the rudder servo got wet once again so I've had to take it apart and leave it to dry.

Loose Tail

Been out of touch with this thread for a while, so forgive me if this is old news...I tried a few flights off grass, but the tail boom snaps very easily unless the grass is very smooth on landing.

I've added some 3mm diameter carbon tubes on each side of the boom. I've not noticed any tail wobble since. And the tail remains in place!!

That canopy is so heavy that removing it allows a lot of equipment to be carried. I put in a full FPV set, including its own battery, and two Sony Bloggies on the sponsons. Seemed more than happy, and flew 15 minutes on a 3S LIPO 2100.

There is a space for two such drive batteries, and again, there was no problem with flying that, although the power level needs to be quite high, and its noisy.

I wanted to ask is about glitching on elevator. Has anyone noticed the elevator twitch downwards briefly in flight?

This has been a regular occurance for mine, but because its brief, I've been trying to identify the spot in the sky where it happens, since it seems to be consistent, but over a featureless area of remote hilltop. No other fliers, no cellphone masts, not even any vehicles or people. Just a sheep or two. Odd.

Next to look for internal errors. I'm using a simple 35MHz receiver sitting an inch or so from the speed controller. Its not necessary, there is room, but it doesnt normally give me problems, and its Multiplex, which is rock solid. It happens without any FPV equipment on board, by the way.

There seems to be no replacement servos available at HH now. Which servos would be equivalent to these?

Splashdown!
The video came out funny because of the YouTube stabilizing....it sorta 'breathes' in places. Not sure I like it.
Anyway, was tooling around trying to keep it close for my GoPro headcam and pulled a little too tight and it spun in. Still drying everything out. Enjoy!

Has anyone set up the Icon in the flaperon configuration so the ailerons could be used as flaps also? Wouldn't this possibly make for slower landings?
