Epoxy for motor mount

I have been using 5 min epoxy to glue the motor mount in my
twister. It seems that the epoxy is brittle and that after 5-10 flights I need to reglue the mount.Could there be a problem with the epoxy. It seems to adhear to the wooden mount well, it does'nt seem to be adhearing to the glass well.Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Thanks

You could try roughing up the glass a little with sandpaper or a fine file and 30 minute epoxy might also do a better job adhering to the wood as it has a better chance of soaking in a little.

There's also a "flexable" epoxy available.

Can't remember what brand, but it seems that it was Jett 30 min. epoxy.

One more thing.

The fast curing epoxies always seem to be more brittle than the slow cure stuff.

I would use a 5 minute epoxy only if I have absolutely no other choice. It usually cures brittle or rubberey, regardless of a brand.
You can make much stronger joyints with slow cure type-45 mins as my minimum cure time. If you need to reduce the cure time you can always use a hair dryer to heat up the area being glued. That will also produce much stronger joyint.

What they said - you're using the wrong stuff. 5 minute is junk, go with 30..

Like Brian said - very important that you rough up the glass just before you use that epoxy! Or else the epoxy molecules will have problem to attach to hardened molecules.

And yes, 30 min epoxy is much better than 5 min.
