The 450 3d and 450X have a stock 35A ESC. You virtually never hear about those burning up or shutting down the motor due to overtemp. They're fine. People even run more powerful Scorpion motors on the stock ESC with no issues.

is it normal for the ESC of my v120d02s to get very hot only after 9 mins of flying circuits?
i bought my v120 because i thought the brushless motor could allow me to fly multiple battery packs without stopping, but now it seems that the ESC will overtemp after multiple flights. i am so afraid of losing the ESC that i have not flown more than 2 battery packs without stopping, but are there any v120 owners who smoked their ESC because of flying several battery packs without stopping?

Don't know about that ESC, myself. Never owned a Walkera heli and probably never will.

Well that is good. That is the main reason why HH demolishes Walkera over here in the US.

You simply cannot compare other ESC's to Walkera's horribly soldered, incredibly cheap yet over priced 40A ESC.... If you put a scorpion motor on it, i give it 3-4 flights before it smokes the ESC. It will probably be the first flight actually. Even the Turbo Ace 804 from wow hobbies was very likely to burn the ESC up after just a few flights.. It's just a high resistance, high heat ESC that is not really sufficient for a 450. Especially in areas with a high OAT.

Blades in comparison are nearly double the price, you pay for all that marketing and support. Still are Asian made toy helis. I have a Blade and a few more recent Walkeras. Both flew out of box no problem. Its way cheaper to supply Walkera parts and purchase new birds. I have fun with both and thats whats its all about, to each his own. Either company have their Pro and Cons. Competition is healthy, otherwise we lose out. Since I been into Helis for just about 1.5 years. I recognize the animosity toward Walkera by Veteran Hobbyist who felt betrayed and even burned by Walkera design and support. (Here in USA None). There is lesser amount toward Blade but this is in part by some flaws and mistakes made, but for the most part contained and corrected. So I am getting low on poporn, be right back.

I had a lot of fun with the Walkeras I have and learned a lot. But at some point you really have to move on. I've had the mCPx and 300x blade from the super marketing company and didn't really like the quality but they flew good.
I know there's a lot of better quality helis out there, but like the Align and Tarot helis I have now
