to me it sound like a mounting problem, to ,measure the pwm signal can be difficult with a regular multimeter as its a PWM signal, but you meassured a voltage, thats good.
Please have a look for the mounting points 1100 and 1900.
Set yout TX to 125% to have more range.

Add the two "legs" from the landing gear and you have your spider :=

I then connected the quad to the computer using a USB cable and FTDI, launched MultiWiiConf 1.7 and was able to see that all transmitter functions were working correctly. I measured the PWM pin for each motor port (2,3,5, and 6) and it measured 2.5V with a DMM. I am not sure what should be checked next. Can anyone provide any ideas.

Hiya,

Bought a new DX8 to go with my Flyduspider and am unsure about a couple of things
Do i have to recalibrate my esc's and should throttle trim be in the middle or bottom like a heli.

(i did ask this in the multiwii forum first but the first question wasn't answered and ide like a concensus on the second)

Thanks
Ray

As kids, we used to pull out a few legs from a spider... Easier than modifying the number of legs on a Flyduspider.....
(or was it a long legged mosquito as we called them....mwhoa ....... who cares... same principle.....)

But now I come to look at it..... THIS already has 6 legs.....
Now what's the english name for this ? Does that sound better than Flyduspider ?

sorry guys really busy atm.
The spider looks cool! similar leg orientation then the Flyduspider.
Also know the only german name, whats the dutch for it?, but may wont sound cool (at least the german wont "weber"), i will stay with the Flyduspider.

Some more before i fall to bed.

This is a TO-92 3.3V voltage regulator on warthox MWC Board.
Its a LE33CZ a L78L33 will do also, almost all in in TO92 should do.

The new sensor bob arrived, but i am afraid i wont have more time to test and solder it today.
Will be done tomorrow, also will be added in the shop tomorrow.
This picture shows the allready mounted damping.
The board is for all sensors avaiable, some can be mounted almost plug n play.
Also some more features on it, more tomorrow.

Boards are looking good Paul. Surface mount makes good sense when you are having very large numbers produced by a board house but considering the state of affairs with the current Multicopter community and the constant addition of newer component parts TH just makes more sense in the long run. I for one am not offended by threw hole designs.

Nice work,
Rob...

sorry, dude.

any spider that has less than 8 legs probably is really pissed at the kid who pulled 'em off.

Best Regards,
Peter Parker

There was quite a few on google images. All my life I have heard that 6 legged spiders are not dangerous. Dont know for sure.
Go to google, click on images, then type in "6 legged spiders"---you will see them.
Either way, The "flyduspider" is the only spider that I like,!! ha ha

I am waiting for my (spider frame) to arrive. Probably another week it will arrive and I can start my build.

Take care,
st99

a quick google of Daddy Long legs yeilds a Spider aka arachnid (8legs) vs insect (6 legs)

I'm sure there may be some localities that have some spindaly insects named Long Legs.

Actually MOST Spiders FLY, just not with wings !

I did not have access to a scope, so I used the DMM to verify a voltage. When you say look for mounting points, do you mean the transmitter settings? The Arduino code under the rc functions has mincheck 1100 and maxcheck 1900. Sorry I don't understand all the rc and Arduino terminology, I am new to this hobby. I will do more research and talk with the guy at the hobby store. He has a Gaui with a Spektrum radio. Thank you very much for your comments.

I was able to calibrate the system in the MultiWiiConf1_7 software. I could see the signals on the screen as I moved the quad.
The transmitter does have a D/R Expo setting. I have left this in the default setting.
When I applied power to the quad I waited for the flashing light to stop before moving or turning on the transmitter. The quad was level when I turned on power.
The roll and yaw appear to be correct based on my movements of the quad and the movements in the Conf tool. I did notice that there is a setting to reverse the yaw direction.

Kind Regards,
Steven Warren
