Decisions decisions 70mm edf X 2
I am really torn between two 70mm twin edf airplanes. The best solution would be to buy both, but the CFO would probably head for a consult with the local divorce attorney if I did...
Both airplanes are from Bananahobby, so if you are a BH hater, please move on.
My first choice is the Mig-29. I love the looks of that airplane- both the real one and th LX version. I remember the first time I saw a Mig 29, in 1989 when two came over to the US after a demonstration team exchange with the then Soviet Union. Their support aircraft, a Bear-D bomber, came with them via Alaska and down through the west coast. Funny story- the international date line runs between Alaska and the Soviet Union, and they arrived a day early (or was it a day late?) on accident. Imagine the turmoil at NORAD when a Soviet nuclear bomber, accompanied by two attack fighters, entered US territory with no warning. Needless to say, a squadron of F-15s armed to the teeth scrambled and intercepted the group, nearly blowing them from the sky. The Pentagon was so concerned that the F-15 squadron escorted them all the way to Dayton, Ohio where they were to perform.
Anyway, when that Mig-29 did it's cobra maneauver, I was hooked. Beautiful airplane.
Choice #2, obviously the F-22. In my opinion it doesn't look as good as the Mig, but this will be my second edf, and I've read that the Raptor is a lot more forgiving than the Mig when landing. Our runway is pretty short- about 60 feet, so I really like th big floaty wing on the F-22.
What do you all think? Anyone by chance flown both? I've read the threads for each, but I haven't really seen a list of pros and cons when put up against each other. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
