[QUOTE=efflux RC;28650631]Here's mine with a Wemotec Minifan rotor, and a 3200kv motor, on 6s. (ICE 100 ESC) It also flies on 5s,
The The HET 1W-40 (3300kv) would be great (and a bit faster) on 6s.
The Jet would require air frame mods (as Apex Mentioned for 6s). Mine also has a thrust tube in it. 5s would be the easier route with no structural reinforcements.
24 V(6s) x 3300kv = 80000 rpm.....Is that not exceeding fan limit ?
I bought a 12 blade pro balanced fan with 1W-40 from Efflux, planning to max out the fan speed at 53000 rpm using a 4 cell.
Did we crunch the numbers wrong ?
Here's the specs --
Max RPM : 52000
Max recommended power : 1800W
Motors required : 28mm inrunner or Outrunner (mfgr recommends 2200- 3300Kv )

I am considering this Habu as my first edf, I have flown a F27q stryker on 6S and a eflite scimitar, you guys think I will find this jet a good one to start with? Also been looking at the Tamjets Habu 2 struts for the eflite retracts, they look nice but just wondering if anyone can tell me do they drop straight in without mods to the wheel wells?

It looks like you're running a 12 blade fan, and Efflux was using the 5-blade Wemo mini fan. Two very different units. I don't know the specs for the Wemo, but a general rule is that high blade count fans max out at much lower rpm than low blade count (4-6blade) fans. If your 4s lipos hold 16v at max throttle, and there isn't much load on the motor, you'll see rpms just north of 50,000, which seems close to your goal. Looks like a winner to me .
