PayPal's SELLER Protection no longer requires "Confirmed Address"

Just got this:

"Hello Brian,

We’re expanding the PayPal Seller Protection program to give you even greater coverage on items you ship almost anywhere in the world.1 Here’s what’s changing:

1. Starting June 17, Seller Protection will cover transactions even when the buyer’s address is unconfirmed. We’re removing the ‘confirmed address eligibility’ requirement. That means we’ll cover millions of additional domestic and international transactions so you can sell to more customers and know your eligible transactions are protected.

If you use the PayPal account filter that blocks unconfirmed addresses, we’ll automatically remove that filter, allowing more transactions to be eligible for Seller Protection coverage. Unconfirmed addresses will appear as confirmed on the transaction details page.

2. We’ve increased the Seller Protection signature confirmation limit from $250 USD to $750 USD ($325 CAD to $850 CAD). 2 You can now ship higher-value goods without a customer signature on delivery, and those transactions will still be eligible for Seller Protection. (Note: all other requirements for seller protection still apply.)

We’re always working hard to help you sell more and keep the shopping experience secure. Thanks for being a PayPal customer.

1.Applies only to countries where PayPal is available. To receive coverage, you still need to meet the other Seller Protection Requirements but will no longer be required to ship to a confirmed address.

2.Signature confirmation (including shipping and tax amounts that are $750 USD ($850 CAD) or more) is required in order for your transactions to be eligible under PayPal Purchase Protection and Seller Protection. All other requirements for Seller Protection eligibility still apply. Please see our User Agreement for additional information."

...and it's all on Paypal at that point. If they aren't requiring confirmed addresses and signature confirmation - fine. The extra earnings from the increased sales and use of Paypal will most certainly outweigh the increase in losses to Seller Protection coverage. Kinda like sub-prime mortgages....

Yes, interesting, and thanks for sharing.

Yet, I will maintain my confirmed address restriction and continue to do sig conf at 50 smakers plus regardless.

I will have to check me PayPal, but the statement of auto removable of users preferences in very disturbing.

Watch out for an increase in fees after this is implemented.
