Hi Kat! seems awful sweet to me! bummer for the south winds ruinin' yer day! I'm surprised the acetone treatment goes as deep as you mentioned! I would have figured a 1/4 shell depth max!Keep it up!

Last nights effort.
  • 25 gram Fiberglass to outer face - laid dry
  • Cast with light weight foam
  • Weight 14.2 grams

This was a lot easier then I was expecting. Didn't take much care with it and it still came out great.

The fiberglass surface is very good and you can't feel the weave when running your nail over it.

Really exciting as this just give endless possibilities for this and future projects. You can just add the composites where they are needed based on their material characteristics. Iterations are very fast once you have the molds.

I would love to spent more time testing other combinations but need to move forward if I'm ever to get her in air.

A serious thank you for trying out infusing the fibreglass into the foam! Something I have wanted to do but not the resources to do it.
