It is probably time to replace that charger. I doubt that it is worth the time and effort to attempt a repair.

Were I you I would look at a charger that has a two line display that provides you the battery and charging information. There a number of them in the $50 range that will be adequate.

To be able to make a suggestion it would be helpful if you posted your battery requirements and even your location

Glen.

Several good chargers here. Look at the CellPro 10XP and the PowerLab 6.

Oh my god that has to take hours on that charger.

Get a real charger. Even if it's a cheaper one from HobbyKing.

OK, here is one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_w_acc_.html

HobbyKing ECO8. It's a 150 watt 7 amp charger, $37 USD. You will need a 12V 15 amp power supply to be able to use the full 150 watts.

This is not a recommendation. I have never used this one but it fits your requirements.

I just picked that one because the specs more or less matched your requirements. The only ones I truly recommend are more expensive than what you want to spend.

The ICharger $79 would be what you really want,it's good quality. What happens is when you go up in power you need a bigger power supply and that's where you're gonna get wacked over the head. However there are these converted PC supplies going for much cheaper and they have capable power. That would be really what you need to do,another side to this is good quality equip can be sold quickly on the net.I own both and there's no comparison.

Do you need an AC power supply for that price as well? I'm going to guess yes since you're old charger was AC. In which case you'll be extremely limited.

This combo is just slightly over your budget:

Just remember that power supply has less capacity then the charger so you'll need to limit your charging appropriately.

My only concern with that combo is the power supply is only 105 watts and the charger is 150 watts. It may be possible to damage the power supply if you try to run the charger at 150 watts.

Whoops forgot to add that limitation. Post edited. When someone give's a budget so low sometimes you gotta work with what's given.

If you guys are going to stick to his $50-under budget, why not recomend the Acucell 6 and a laptop supply,he'll be able to do a 1c charge comfortably, with the speed he's at now he will go straight to heaven for even less money.
